What are your hours of operation?

We are open from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, Out of School.

We are open from 7:00am to 5:30am, Monday through Friday, 3-5 Group Care and Infant/Toddler program

What are the center’s policies regarding COVID19?

Are you open all year?

No, we are closed 3 weeks a year. Two weeks at the end of August and one week between Christmas and New Years Eve. We are also closed for all statutory holidays including Easter Monday and Boxing Day.

What school do you service?

We service Blakeburn Elementary, Irvine Elementary, Birchland Elementary and Minnikhada Middle School. Transportation by bus or walking is provided to all the above schools.

Are all your staff ECE Certified?

All of our staff meets the licensing requirements for each of our programs. Out of School program staff are Responsible Adults with the proper course work, the 3-5 Group Care and Preschool and Infant/Toddler Program staff are all IT ECE or ECE licensed.

Does your staff have their first aid certificates?

Yes, all of our staff have current first aid certificates at all times while on the floor.

Do I have to pay for fieldtrips?

No, fieldtrips and all other activity costs are covered in your monthly fees.

Do you offer Part-time spots?

Yes, we offer a daily rate for predetermined days of your choice, however if you cannot pick specific days then you must pay full time rates.

Does my child need to be potty trained before attending your facility?

Yes, however we will take children that are not potty-trained as long as the parents are willing to work with us in a speedy training process.

Do I have to pay for the whole summer, even if you do not plan to attend?

No, our summer program is run on a weekly bases. If you wish to attend you must choose a minimum of 4 weeks per month. If you do not require care at all then you have the option to pay a flat fee to hold your spot until the following September.

Do you provide transportation to and from school?

Yes, Minnikhada and Birchland children walk to school. Blakeburn  and Irvine children are transported by bus or company vehicle and there is a monthly transportation fee for those children.

Does your Transport Bus meet all BC regulations?

Yes, the bus is inspected every year and has passed every time! Our drivers all hold a valid class 4 drivers license while driving the bus.

Do you have a waitlist? Do siblings have priority?

Yes, often we do have a waitlist, it is based on first-come-first-serve. We do not charge to put your name on the waitlist. Siblings and children currently attending any of our programs have priority over available spots in other programs.

Does my child need to nap?

We do encourage the children to nap, as it is an important to their development, however if your child does not nap there is a rest time with quiet activities available.

Do you have a music program?

Yes, music and movement are important part of our curriculum, we have an outside teacher come in once per week to provide a music class full of instruments, songs and there is even a French component.

Is your Preschool Bilingual?

Yes, we offer introductory French into our daily schedule. Your child will learn everything from the days of the week to naming articles around the classroom.

Do you accept children using the Child Care Benefit Program (otherwise known as Subsidy)?

Yes, we ask that you fill out all the necessary government paperwork and we can help you if you require assistance.

Are you participating in the new government program, Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative?

Yes we have been accepted to this program and you will see the reduction listed on your invoice.

Do you have a webcam?

No, due to the privacy of the child. On the internet no guarantee can be made to secure the privacy of families, we do not allow any video cameras or cameras in the centre unless there is a special occasion with written permission.

Do you accept children with special needs?

Yes, we work closely with Simon Fraser Supportive Childcare and try to meet the needs for all children.

Do you have a Christmas Concert?

Yes, we hold a concert for all of our preschool families. Extra tickets are available so grandparents and other beloved family members may attend.

Do you provide lunch for Infant/Toddler or 3-5 group care program?

No, please bring a lunch for your child. We do provide a variety of healthy snacks during the morning and afternoon.

Do you provide Breakfast?

No, however if you wish to bring breakfast it will be served to your child until 7:30 or 8:00am depending on which program your child attends.

Is your centre a peanut free environment?

Yes, if we have a child who is affected by this allergy, your classroom will have a sign posted. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Are you a licensed facility?

Yes, we have been licensed and in good standing with Fraser Health for over  25 years.

Are parents allowed to visit anytime?

Yes, we encourage open relationship with families. We do ask that you have a criminal record check and open a file with us if you would like to volunteer on a regular bases.

Are parents allowed to attend fieldtrips?

Yes, parents that wish to attend must sign up in advance. We require additional paperwork to be filled out in accordance with Fraser Health Regulations.
